Dog Grooming Policies & Procedures
* Full body dog shaving or breed specific hair cuts to dogs with hair is not offered.
> Baths, de-shedding, nail trims, ear cleaning, and teeth brushing are our specialties.
* There are available transportation options for grooming:
> Curbside pickup - send a text upon arrival at the shop and we will come out to grab your furbaby
> Pick Up/Drop Off - if you have a tight schedule, for an additional fee, transportation can be arranged.
* On Site Viewing - we welcome clients to come in and check the shop out for yourself at the time of service as we want you to feel comfortable when leaving your furbaby.
> Clients may stay during a service as long as it is not disrupting your dog or the service.
> As grooming is done in a private residence, tours are not available beforehand, however, pictures above are an accurate reflection of the garage shop.
* All necessary grooming equipment and materials are on site for the best care and safety.
> We hand dry every dog, so rest assured dog will never be kenneled
> Every appointment made is for one dog only, or maybe two if part of the same household, to limit distractions or interactions with other dogs.
> At reservation time, it is important to note if your dog is dog aggressive to ensure ample time between appointments to eliminate exposure to other dogs.
> The garage shop, while unconventional to most grooming shops, is actually ideal for all dogs, including anxious or fearful ones, because there is no foot traffic, so the shop stays quiet and there are no other panicked, barking dogs around to create even more stress for your dog.
> In the shop, there is all standard equipment and supplies including a bathing tub, a hydraulic lift grooming table, high speed dryers, a plethora of shampoos/conditioners based on coat or skin needs, and several different tools any grooming needs such as brushing, de-matting, deshedding, nail trimming, ear care etc.
Other Dog Grooming Potential Costs
* All dog grooming over a holiday, which includes the day before, the day of, and the day after a major holiday are subject to a $20 holiday charge on top of the base rate for the service.
* Additional charges for difficult, aggressive, or senior dogs
> If a dog’s grooming etiquette is such that one groomer, alone, cannot safely complete the service, there will be an additional charge of half of the total grooming cost for the additional groomer.
> Senior or physically limited dogs, that may have a time constraint and need grooming to be sped up, may request an additional groomer for half of the total cost of the groom
> A client can request a secondary groomer for any reason ahead of the scheduled groom for half of the total cost of the groom
> Dangerous dogs that present as a safety hazard to itself or to the groomer, will be muzzled, and there will be an additional charge of $20-$50 based on the dogs size, cooperation, and overall temperament.
* De-matting fees apply to any dog with extensive amounts of matting to compensate the groomer for the time, energy, and effort required to get your dogs’ coat back to a healthy condition safely.
> Fees for this service range from $20-$50 based on the size of the dog, the severity, and time taken remove matts.
> In the event where matting is too severe, the groomer may decline service or may opt to humanely shave the matts out in the best interest of the dog regardless of aesthetic appearance.
* Dogs that require flea and tick care must fulfill a few requirements:
> Client must inform the groomer ahead of time about the dog’s flea and tick condition
> Disclosure of the exact date of the last flea & tick treatment is necessary to prevent accidental posining.
> Upon inspection of a dog, if the groomer finds evidence of flea and/or ticks, the client will be notified and asked to provide the dogs history.
> Once appropriate information is gathered, the groomer will proceed with the dogs health and wellness a top priority and the below fees will be added to the clients final invoice.
> Flea & Tick Fees: Shampoo treatment: $10 per dog
> Tick Removal: $10-$40 depending on the severity, quantity and total time spent
