Your Phone Is Full of Photos. Which One Belongs in a Frame?

Pet owners capture thousands of everyday moments, sleepy faces, silly expressions, muddy paws, and spontaneous adventures. Those photos are meaningful, but they do not always show your pet at their best or include the people who love them most.

FurBabies & Friends creates intentional, frame-worthy pet photography that captures your pet’s personality, spirit, and connection with your family. Whether you are celebrating a season, documenting a milestone, or preserving memories with an ageing pet, the goal is to create images you will still treasure years from now.

Choose the Session That Fits Your Pet and Your Family

From quick seasonal photos to private portraits and meaningful legacy sessions, FurBabies & Friends offers several ways to capture the pets you love. Explore the options below to find the experience that best fits your occasion, your pet’s comfort, and the memories you want to preserve.

Why Choose FurBabies & Friends for Pet Photography?

A successful pet photography session depends on more than the camera. Pets need time, patience, thoughtful preparation, and people who understand their behavior. The FurBabies & Friends team combines photography with positive reinforcement handling to create a calmer experience and more natural, meaningful images.

Your pet does not need perfect obedience to deserve a beautiful portrait.

Positive, Pet-Friendly Handling

We use treats, toys, movement, breaks, and gentle guidance to help pets participate comfortably. We do not force pets into positions or use intimidation to create a pose.

Trainer-Supported Posing and Preparation

Kristie’s dog training experience helps families prepare for the session and work through common challenges such as distractions, excitement, uncertainty, or difficulty remaining in position. The goal is cooperation, not perfection.

Sessions Adapted to the Individual Pet

Every pet has different needs, comfort levels, mobility, and motivators. Session locations, pacing, poses, and expectations can be adjusted for puppies, energetic adults, nervous pets, ageing pets, and animals with physical limitations.

Meaningful Images of the Whole Family

Sessions are designed to capture more than a standard pose. We focus on personality, connection, and the details that make each pet unforgettable, whether photographing a dog, cat, bird, horse, small animal, or mixed-species family.

Pet Photography Experiences for Every Kind of Memory

Whether you want festive seasonal photos, a portrait of your pet’s unique personality, family photos that include every important member, or meaningful images during a pet’s final chapter, FurBabies & Friends offers several ways to preserve the moments that matter most.

Choose the photography experience that best fits your pet, your family, and the memories you want to keep.

Pet Participation and Location

Private sessions offer the greatest flexibility for pets who may not be comfortable at a seasonal event. Sessions may take place at your home, in your yard, at a familiar outdoor location, or at another mutually approved setting in Glendale or the Phoenix West Valley.

Household members may participate in a limited number of connection-focused images when arranged before the session. Full family portrait sessions remain part of the annual Fall Family Photoshoot.

Horse and other large-animal sessions are quoted individually based on the location, travel requirements, number of animals, and session needs.

Availability and Scheduling

Private pet portraits are available by request and scheduled based on team availability, weather, location, and the needs of the participating pets.

Illness and unsafe weather may qualify for rescheduling. A session that cannot be completed because of unsafe or unmanaged animal behavior does not automatically qualify for a complimentary replacement session.

These sessions are available for ageing pets, pets with terminal diagnoses, and families approaching an end-of-life decision. Photography may include individual portraits, quiet candid moments, family connection images, and photographs with other household pets.

A Comfort-First Experience

Your pet will never be forced into a position or expected to complete a rigid shot list. Sessions may take place on a favorite bed, in the yard, beside a family member, or anywhere else your pet feels secure.

We will work within your pet’s physical and emotional limits. If your pet becomes tired or uncomfortable, the session may be adjusted or shortened to protect their well-being.

Beautiful photographs do not require perfect obedience, eye contact, or traditional poses. Often, the most meaningful images are the quiet moments that show the relationship you already share.

Pet Participation and Location

Legacy sessions are available for dogs, cats, birds, horses, small animals, mixed-species households, and other companion animals.

Whenever possible, sessions should take place in the pet’s home or another familiar environment. This is especially important for pets experiencing:

*  Limited mobility
*  Pain or fatigue
*  Vision or hearing loss
*  Anxiety in unfamiliar settings
*  Advanced age
*  Serious illness

Horse and large-animal sessions are conducted on location and may require an individual travel quote.

Scheduling and Availability

Legacy sessions are available by request throughout Glendale and the Phoenix West Valley. Contact FurBabies & Friends as early as possible so we can discuss your pet’s condition, location, family participation, and scheduling needs.

We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate time-sensitive situations, but same-day or emergency availability cannot be guaranteed.

Weather or changes in your pet’s health may require rescheduling. Any decisions will be made with your pet’s comfort and welfare as the priority.

You cannot preserve every moment, but you can preserve the connection that made those moments matter.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pet Photography

Planning a pet photography session should feel exciting, not stressful. Learn more about pricing, participating pets, family photos, session preparation, image delivery, and compassionate legacy photography with FurBabies & Friends.

How much does pet photography cost?

Pet photography prices depend on the session type, appointment length, number of pets, location, and image package selected.

Seasonal Pet Mini Sessions start at $30, Fall Family Photoshoots start at $50, Private Pet Portrait Photography starts at $125, and Legacy and End-of-Life Pet Photography starts at $175.

Each photography option includes different session lengths, image quantities, selection options, and levels of editing. Review the service packages above for current details. Pricing for scheduled events may vary based on the theme, location, or available upgrades.

Can I be included in family photos with my pets?

Yes. Our annual Fall Family Photoshoot is designed specifically for family photos with pets. These sessions are scheduled early enough to provide time for holiday cards, framed keepsakes, and seasonal gifts.

Private pet portrait sessions may include a limited number of photographs with household members when arranged in advance. Legacy photography sessions may also include immediate family members and other household pets.

Year-round private sessions remain primarily focused on the pets. General family photography without pets is not currently offered.

What types of pets do you photograph, and can I bring more than one?

FurBabies & Friends offers pet photography for dogs, cats, birds, small animals, horses, mixed-species households, and other companion animals.

Yes, multiple pets can participate, although the number permitted depends on the session type and package. Private pet portrait sessions usually provide the most flexibility because they allow more time for individual photographs, group combinations, breaks, and adjustment to each pet’s needs.

Contact FurBabies & Friends before registering multiple pets or a non-dog pet for a Seasonal Pet Mini Session or Fall Family Photoshoot. We will confirm whether the event location, available time, and photography setup can safely accommodate them.

Horses and other large animals require a private on-location session.

What if my pet will not sit still or look at the camera?

Your pet does not need perfect obedience to participate in a pet photography session.

We use positive reinforcement, treats, toys, movement, breaks, and trainer-supported positioning to encourage cooperation without forcing your pet into a pose. Session expectations can be adjusted based on your pet’s age, energy level, confidence, mobility, attention span, and comfort.

Some of the most meaningful photographs come from natural expressions and candid interactions rather than traditional poses. However, owners remain responsible for maintaining safe control of their pets. Unsafe or unmanaged behavior may require a session to be shortened or ended.

What is included in a private pet portrait photography session?

A private pet portrait photography session includes pre-session planning, positive handling, trainer-supported positioning, and edited digital images based on the package selected.

Private sessions may take place at your home, in your yard, at a familiar outdoor location, or at another mutually approved setting in Glendale or the Phoenix West Valley. Depending on the package, sessions may include:

Individual pet portraits
Multiple-pet combinations
Mixed-species households
Candid personality images
Milestone photographs
Selected photographs with household members
Client-selected images from a preview gallery

Private sessions are especially useful for cats, birds, horses, small animals, nervous pets, ageing pets, and animals that may not be comfortable at a scheduled event.

What is seasonal pet photography, and how do I register?

Seasonal pet photography includes short, scheduled mini sessions built around holidays, seasons, and limited-time themes.

Events may include Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, spring, patriotic, and other themed photography experiences. Seasonal sessions typically include a styled backdrop or setting, pet-friendly props, trainer-supported posing, positive handling, and digital image packages.

Use the photography registration form on this page to request an available session. Select the appropriate photography event, provide the requested information about your pets and family, and choose your preferred appointment when available.

Your session is not confirmed until the FurBabies & Friends team reviews your registration, confirms the appointment, and sends the required payment instructions.

What is end-of-life pet photography?

End-of-life pet photography is a comfort-focused session for ageing pets, pets with terminal diagnoses, and families approaching an end-of-life decision.

The session may include:

Individual portraits of your pet
Family connection photographs
Quiet candid moments
Images with other household pets
Meaningful details such as paws, eyes, collars, blankets, or favorite resting places

The goal is not perfect posing. It is to preserve your pet’s personality, beauty, and connection with the people and animals who love them.

Sessions are planned around the pet’s comfort, health, mobility, and emotional needs. Whenever possible, photography takes place at home or in another familiar environment.

When should I schedule an end-of-life pet photography session?

Schedule an end-of-life pet photography session as early as possible after a terminal diagnosis, significant health change, or noticeable decline.

Waiting until the final day can create additional pressure and may limit your pet’s energy, comfort, mobility, or ability to participate. Booking earlier allows more flexibility with scheduling, location, family participation, and the pace of the session.

FurBabies & Friends will make reasonable efforts to accommodate time-sensitive situations, but same-day and emergency availability cannot be guaranteed.

How should I prepare my pet for a photography session?

Preparation depends on your pet and the type of session, but familiar rewards and simple planning can help the experience go more smoothly.

You may be asked to bring:

High-value treats or another favorite reward
A favorite toy or attention-getting item
A clean, simple collar or harness
Water for outdoor sessions
Grooming supplies for quick touch-ups
Meaningful accessories, blankets, or personal items
Any medication or mobility support your pet normally needs

Dogs may benefit from a potty break and moderate exercise before the appointment, but they should not arrive overheated or exhausted.

For family photos, coordinate clothing colors without requiring everyone to dress identically. Avoid distracting logos or patterns that may pull attention away from the people and pets.

How are photographs selected, edited, and delivered?

Image selection depends on the photography package purchased.

Some packages include final photographs selected by the FurBabies & Friends team. Other packages allow clients to choose their favorites from a private preview gallery. The number of images and the level of editing vary by package.

Final photographs are delivered digitally by email, text, or private gallery, depending on the package and session type. Editing and delivery timelines will be listed with the scheduled event or confirmed when a private or legacy session is booked.

Clients receive personal usage rights for the final delivered images, including personal printing, sharing, and social media use. Commercial use, resale, or extensive alteration requires written permission.
