Beginner Dog Tricks Class in Glendale, AZ

Ready to have more fun with your dog? Beginner Dog Tricks is a 4-week positive reinforcement group dog training class designed for pet parents who want to teach fun tricks while building focus, confidence, engagement, and teamwork.

This class is great for dogs and handlers who want something more playful than traditional obedience while still building practical training skills. Your dog will learn beginner tricks, body awareness exercises, foundation skills for canine freestyle, and creative movement-based behaviors that can be used for enrichment, bonding, confidence building, and future trick title goals.

What Your Dog Will Learn

In this class, we will introduce beginner-friendly dog tricks and freestyle foundation skills, including:

  • Motivators, marker timing, and engagement
  • Name recall and leash walking cues
  • Beginner tricks such as touch, spin, twirl, orbit, bow, sit pretty, and roll over
  • Freestyle foundation moves such as pivot, switch, figure 8, middle, and peek-a-boo
  • Prop work using hula hoops and position targets
  • Cue combining, transitions, and creative trick sequences
  • Performance practice and a fun graduation showcase

This class is open to friendly, treat-motivated dogs who can safely work around other dogs and people in a small outdoor group setting. Dogs should be current on age-appropriate vaccinations.

Do I need to register before attending a class or event?

Yes. Pre-registration is required for most FurBabies & Friends classes and events. Some programs have limited space, vaccine requirements, age requirements, or behavior requirements, so registering ahead of time helps us confirm that the event is the right fit for your dog.

Are your dog training classes positive reinforcement based?

Yes. FurBabies & Friends uses positive reinforcement, force-free training methods. We do not use shock collars, prong collars, choke chains, fear, pain, or intimidation in our training programs.

What types of dog training classes do you offer?

Class offerings may include beginner obedience, intermediate obedience, advanced obedience, puppy training, AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy, Canine Good Citizen prep, tricks, scent training, leash skills, and specialty workshops. Available classes vary by season.

Can reactive or aggressive dogs attend group classes or events?

Group classes and public events are not appropriate for every dog. Dogs attending group programs must be safe around people and other dogs in that environment. If your dog struggles with reactivity, fear, or aggression, contact us before registering so we can recommend the safest option.
