Intermediate Obedience Dog Training Class in Glendale, AZ
Ready to level up your pup’s skills? If your dog has graduated from basic manners or already knows foundational obedience cues, this Intermediate Obedience class is designed to help your team build more reliability, focus, and control around real-world distractions.
This 6-week group class helps dogs strengthen known skills while adding distance, duration, distractions, improved leash manners, position changes, polite greetings, and better impulse control.
What You and Your Dog Will Work On
- Long-lead distance commands using hand signals and verbal cues
- Long-lead distraction recalls
- Loose leash walking, heel/reel work, pivots, and directional changes
- Position changes including front, middle, behind, and back up
- Fun obedience positions including weave, orbit, spin/twirl, and touch
- Back up and back boundary control
- Place and wait with duration and release
- Polite greetings with canes, wheelchairs, and other real-world distractions
- Advanced leash manners around distractions and obstacles
- Pack walking with other dogs and human distractions
- Leash safety protocols
Prerequisites
To thrive in this class, your dog should already be able to perform basic obedience skills reliably with some distractions.
Your dog should know or be familiar with:

- Non-reactive leash manners

Weekly Class Support
You’ll receive class location details, homework reminders, and weekly recap support through email and group text. We will start in lower-traffic areas and build toward busier, more stimulating environments as your dog progresses.
Requirements
- Must pre-register
- Proof of vaccines required, including Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, and Bordetella
- Liability form must be signed
- Training packet provided
- Free treat training bag included
- Dog must be able to work around other dogs and people without excessive reactivity
- Daily at-home practice is strongly recommended
This class is a strong next step for dogs who have completed Beginner Obedience or already have solid foundation skills and are ready for more real-world challenge.
